An Evening Prayer
In 1Thes 5:16-18 we read -16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. This reminds me of a song we sing number 106, An Evening Prayer
Verse 1 If I have wounded any soul today .If I have caused one foot to go astray.
Rom 14:10 and13.10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.13Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way.
Verse 1 If I have walked in my own willful way.
1 Pet 5:5-6 5Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
Verse 2 If I have uttered idle words or vain.
Matt 12:36-3736"But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.37"For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
Verse 2 If I have turned aside from want or pain.
Gal 6:9-109And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Verse 3Forgive the sins I have confessed to Thee.
I Jn 1:8-9 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in u. s
9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Verse 3 Forgive the secret sins I do not see.
Ps 90:88You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.
Verse 3 O guide me love me and my keeper be.
John 16:13"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;.13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
Ps 121:1-81I will lift up my eyes to the hills-- from whence comes my help?2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.4 Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.5 The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your right hand.
6The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
7The LORD 8 The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.
shall preserve you from all evil; he shall preserve your soul.
In Jesus name. Dear Lord forgive.
Let us strive to always sing with the spirit and understanding.
