Various Pieces Of Our Amour

Last week, Brother Ray started a great class on The Armor of God.  His class dealt with us, as Christians, putting on the Armor of God to "stand the wiles of the devil."  I just want to share a few of my thoughts on the matter and hope that you find them beneficial.    As we discussed in Ray's class, Ephesians 6:10-17 talks about the various pieces of God's Armor and why we need it.  But the verse that stands out to me is verse 10 which says, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might."  This tells me that we need God's Armor to be strong and that we need his power to be mighty enough to fight our adversary, the devil.      I urge you brethren, these days that we are living in now, as Christians, we need to be brave and strong now, more than ever.

Every time you turn on the news, it's obvious that Christian lifestyles and God is under attack from every angle.  The devil is trying to flank us on every front, and 1 Peter 5:8 tells us to, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, is a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."  It's obvious that we are not immune to the fight.  Our decision is not whether we fight, but that when the fight is here, what will we do?  That's the only decision we have.      I urge you brethren, study God's word so that we are like Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit..."  We must be ready to stand up to the devil, having put on the whole armor of God and use the strength that we find through the scripture to be steadfast in the face of evil and fight the good fight.
