Jesus Is....

The Bible makes several statements concerning Jesus.  In this article, we want to look at several of them.  Notice, Jesus is....

The Way, Truth, and Life

Talking to the Apostles, Jesus said:  "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (Jn. 14:6).  The attempt of many to get to the Heavenly Father through some other but Jesus, is in vain.  Only through or by Him can we go to the Father.  We must believe in Jesus to be saved (Jn. 8:24).

The Lamb of God

One particular occasion records John seeing Jesus and declaring, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (Jn. 1:29).  The Old Testament Law of Moses necessitated the offering of animal sacrifices as stated throughout the Book of Leviticus and other places.  Not so under the New Testament as it is impossible for the blood of those things to take away sin (Heb. 10:4).  Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world (Mt. 26:28).  He tasted death for every man (Heb. 2:9).

The Light of the Word

Concerning Jesus, John 1:4 states:  "In him was life; and the life was the light of men."  John came to bear witness of that light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world (v. 9).  Without truth we walk in darkness.  Notice, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Ps. 119:105).  The law was given by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ (Jn. 1:17).  Simeon stated concerning Jesus:  "A light to the lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel" (Lk. 2:32).  Since Jesus is the light of the world are you listening to His Word?

The Door

A door is for entrance.  Jesus said:  "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber" (Jn. 10:1).  Then, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep" (v. 7).  The only way we can be saved is by Jesus (v. 9).

The Shepherd

Jesus describes himself as being the good shepherd (Jn. 10:11).  He says the shepherd gives his life for the sheep (v. 12).  Without doubt, Jesus laid down his life for man (Mk. 10:45).  Jesus said:  "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (Jn. 15:13).

The Judge

There's a day of Judgment coming and Jesus will be the Judge (Jn. 5:22; Ro. 2:16).  Are you ready for that day?  If not, prepare now.  The Judgment may come sooner than you think!
