GODS TIMEGOD’S TIME
Eccl. 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.” Our eternal creator has a time and a purpose for everything. God is all-knowing and all-seeing and His understanding of what is and what is to come far exceeds anything our minds can comprehend. Isaiah 46:9-10 says, “Remembering the former things of old, For I am God, and there none like Me, (10) Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying My counsel shall stand, And I will do all my pleasure.” Simply put, God sees things that we can’t see and has plans and has promised to provide and care for His own (Matt. 6:33).
There are times in our lives which we may not understand why certain things happen or why certain things don’t. Why do some things we want take so long or never take place at all? Simply put God’s time and purpose is superior and may not align with our time and desires. As Christians we are promised that if we are faithful followers of God in this life then through His grace and mercy of sending Christ to die for us we will inherit an eternal home in heaven (Rev. 2:10) Also, as stated earlier Matthew chapter 6 tells us that for those who seek God and His righteousness their physical necessities will be taken care of. Our duty and responsibility is to live faithfully before God and man and trust that God is working for our good. We need to be earnest in prayer and express to God our wants and needs and then trust that whatever answer He gives us is the best answer, PERIOD. That answer may not always be what we want or expect, or perhaps the answer takes longer than we would desire. Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. (9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” We should be thankful that such a God loves us and cares for us each and everyday. It is thatsame God who we must trust is working all things for our eternal good. Even in times and situations we may not understand we can understand that God is in control.
